Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer - Electronics

Rotork Controls is a market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of valve actuation and control equipment. The Rotork Quality department is responsible for ensuring all elements of the design and manufacturing process, from supplier to customer, is to the highest standard and in line with the ISO9001 quality programme.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be liaising with worldwide suppliers of PCB assemblies, recommending process improvements. Your responsibilities will include:
Advising Rotork Engineering departments about best practice regarding design for manufacture and reliability.
Analysis of PCB defects from production/field and providing support as required.
Evaluating process or product problems and reporting on causes.
Implementing effective corrective and preventative actions, in close association with suppliers, production, purchasing and engineering.
Analysis and presentation of supplier, internal and field performance data.
Close liaison with the electronics department, advising on new/upgraded products.
Approval of new components.
Conducting supplier assessments.
Supporting worldwide subsidiaries and customers with respect to problems in the field when necessary.
Evaluation of non-conforming material and disposition.
Chairing and co-ordinating Design Reviews.
Preparation and maintenance of Quality Procedures.
THE PERSON
You will be educated to HNC / HND / Degree level in an Electronics related subject, and have worked in a quality assurance or production role in a PCB assembly and test environment, covering SMD and conventional components. Having hands on experience of fault finding PCBs to component level would be advantageous as would a working knowledge of ISO9001.
You will be responsible, self motivated, professional and confident and be able to communicate at all levels.You will have concise and accurate report writing skills, an eye for detail and the ability to make instant decisions under pressure. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, dealing with people with diplomacy and integrity.
Due to the nature of this role you will require a positive and flexible approach to working time and travel, including overseas.
